Reflective Introduction

Reflective Introduction: My reflective introduction where I analyzed the evolution of my writing skills and the development of my writing process over the course of the semester.

Overview of Journals: A paragraph where I described my writing journal entries and how they supplemented my reading skills and abilities to explore what I'm reading but didn't affect my papers because two of my three papers were not on topics relating to the class.

Prospectus

The prospectus for my third paper where I explored what I was going to write about.  At this point, my argument was not fully formed yet.

1st First Paper: "The Dual Interpretations of Creative Works in the Jacobean Era"

Paper 1 Outline: The outline for my first paper which is the only concrete example of my preparation for this paper.  It demonstrates the rough nature of my writing process at the beginning of the semester as very lacking.

Polished Version of Paper 1: The polished version of my first paper, which is an example of my style of writing at the beginning of the semester and also shows my flaws, which I hoped to fix in the two following papers.

2nd Paper: "The Mighty Influence of Film Scores"

Paper 2 Copious Note-Taking: These are the notes I took for the research of the film scores, and demonstrates the extensive preparation I did for this paper and the development of my organization skills as well as writing method.

Paper 2 Outline: This outline has the same format as the outline for my first paper, but has the Paper 2 Copious Notes to back it up.  It's another stepping stone in my developed writing method.

Paper 2 Draft 1 w/ Instructor Comments: The first draft of my second paper marks a breakthrough in the amount of effort I put into pre-writing organization, planning, and research.

Polished Version of Paper 2: The polished version of Paper 2 on film scores is a breakthrough in my understanding of how to write a good research paper and gave me a lot of confidence.

Presentation: Genetics & Eugenics

Presentation Notes: These presentation notes demonstrate my ability to conduct effective research.

Presentation, as recorded by Professor during class: This is the text of the presentation as recorded by the Professor in class.  It is the result of my Presentation Notes.

3rd Paper: "Disney Characters as Weapons of Propaganda During World War II"

Paper 3 Copious Note-Taking: The pages of notes I took before writing my outline, which I learned from writing my second paper is very helpful in formulating an argument because it forces me to support every argument with adequate evidence.

Paper 3 Outline: The traditional typed outline that I make before writing every paper.

Paper 3 Draft 1 w/ Instructor Comments: The first draft of my third paper, which was a great milestone because it confirmed the success of my new writing process.

Paper 3 Draft 2 w/ Peer Mark-Up: The second draft of my third paper, which does not have very many changes from the first draft because I worked so hard on my first attempt.

Polished Version of Paper 3: The polished version of my third paper, which showcases the skills I've learned and honed over the course of the semester.  I decided to display the images of the pages of the paper instead of writing it out in rich text like I have in the past two portfolio check-ins because that way I can preserve the correct format for the whole paper.

Annotated Bibliography

I included the 10 most significant Annotated Bibliography Entries, 2 from my first paper, 3 from my second paper, and 5 from my third paper.  Each of these entries marks points of progress I made in formulating my argument for each respective paper, which makes them the most noteworthy sources.
