Closure (closing activity)
Students will reflect on the classroom activities of that day in their Science Journal, answering the following questions (taken from writing across the curriculum):
1. Based on today’s discussion, do a 3-2-1 reflection. Write down three things you found interesting, two things that were a bit confusing, and one thing you would like to know more about.
2. Explain two ways that endothermic and exothermic reactions are similar and two ways that these two types of reactions are different.
Writing Across the Curriculum (discussed in class) is an excellent source for Science Journal writing activities. Questions are focused and allow students to reflect on the lesson of that day, giving the teacher a sense of student understanding and comprehension of material discussed.
