The viewer pauses to gaze at a work of art. He sees the passion of the artist in the emotion of the subject and the Dionysian attitudes in the work. Light dampens color or makes it scream. He wonders at the emotions that rise up out of the work and swirl around him. The pattern they follow leaves him contemplating how they work in life. The unknown calls to him, evoking fear. That fear causes acts of cruelty as the world looks on, horrified yet somehow unphased. Chaos ensues as the horror builds, until the barrage numbs the senses to death and leaves the viewer chilled.
