Statement of Prospective Claims

This section is a key feature of every Find Your FEAT assignment. The ability to successfully complete this section depends not only on the amount of quality research completed but also on how that research has been organized. It is the start of experimenting with argumentation. I struggled with this in the first Find Your FEAT, not used to writing anything before all of my research was completed. Even though I did not have anything close to a coherent argument for my second essay, I knew that it was worth trying to reach the five hundred word minimum. I only made it into the three hundreds, but it was the first of many lessons in battling the writer’s block I faced in this essay. Keep writing. Insert rhetorical questions to help the ideas along. Drafting is a dialogue with readers; it is also a dialogue with yourself. The ideas will eventually come if you keep looking for them.
