Introduction to Paper 3: Longer Research Paper
For the final paper, we had the freedom to choose our own topic related to the course: Reading Disaster. I initially wanted to study how the media have reported disasters and what responsibility they hold to the public because we watched two intriguing documentaries about Hurricane Katrina in class. However, I found myself not satisfied with the field of photography because I only studied one photographic book about the Hiroshima-Nagasaki A-Bomb, and there are still many more to talk about regarding the role of photography.
Because this paper is about something I'm really interested in, I've spent a lot of time doing research and deciding on my thesis. Even though it was a very tiring experience, I am glad with my work.
